Thanks to all for an amazing 2010 Showplace...

The fundraiser was a lot of fun and a great success! CYT provides after school theater arts training for more than 4,000 children annually and our children’s musical productions attract more than 100,000 patrons each year. The proceeds from this fundraising gala will help provide tuition scholarships, sound and lighting equipment, sets, costumes and facility rental fees in both San Diego and Riverside counties. We thank all of you for your tremendous support throughout the years.

We didn't quite reach our goal... there's still ways to help!

We raised about $40,000 thanks to everyone who came to the fundraiser. However, we didn't quite reach our goal of $60,000. We'd love for you to help us bridge that gap. Please take a look below at some interesting facts and other ways you can help.

Did you know?

  • Scholarships
Nearly 50% of our students need financial assistance in order to participate in our youth program.

  • CYT's Actors Unlimited class
This class is offered to young adults with disabilities including Down Syndrome. The cost per class, including teachers and aides, is $3,000.

  • CYT Field Trips
CYT underwrites up to 50% of all school days field trips. Last year 30,000 school age children were able to attend a live CYT performance. Many of these children are experiencing live theater for the first time. School district budget cuts have eliminated field trips.

  • CYT Show Sponsor
The average CYT show draws over 1,000 school age children, and the public performances draw between 1,500 and 3,000. The gap between cost of show and ticket revenue is approximately $5,000-$8,000. Check out all of our sponsorship opportunities and benefits here.

  • CYT Summer Camps
Every year nearly 1,000 students attend one of our week-long day or resident camps.

CYT is:
Daniel who loves to sing and dance his heart out. When Daniel performs you know that he is giving his all. You can see it in his eyes, his concentration, his focus. You can see it in his smile when he was chosen by his peers to receive the Rose Award (the most Christlike in the cast). When asked if he wanted to take a break from CYT he says, "Are you kidding? That's where my friends are!" Daniel was born with Down Syndrome and has found a home in CYT. He has found a place to be himself, where he is accepted, where he is treated with respect.

That's CYT - where children can experience God''s love.
